If Mum had the operation in Singapore, I think I can use my Medicare fund and have the operation done in a private hospital, also singapore is a much nicer place to have this sort of thing done, and of course to recouperate, then you also have the family here on your doorstep.
When I had my piles sorted, the worst part was the GA they put you under. Also these days we have key hole surgery and stuff like that which is quite invasive and really straight forward.
