Did you read about mingers with mullets pulling moonies before 1990?

Clive's department is on TV at the moment because of the BBC's Balderdash & Piffle programme. The OED have been asking for help to solve 50 of the most intriguing word mysteries in the English language.

BBC/OED LINK

Wordhunters have helped to rewrite the dictionary by providing earlier examples of the words pass-the-parcel, nip and tuck, smart-casual and many more.... Luckily people have to contact the BBC and not Clive's office directly!

So if you have had a balti before 1984, had Ploughmans lunch before 1970 or if any cricketers out there can tell the OED why an unplayable delivery is now known as a 'jaffa' better get emailing!

Worth reading for education. I won't be saying 'naff' again. Not one for the non-polari/non- Julian & Sandy fans...oops. And Fletch from 'Porridge' used to say it too...

Clive not in the shots around the offce though as the beeb filmed while we were in Provence having a lovely holiday at the time never mind!
