Do not collect £200

Lots of memories of living in Oxford came up when we called in to see the new Malmaison at Oxford Castle this afternoon.
We were spotted gazing round by the general manager who is actually from Monaco. Jean-Pierre got keys and showed us into a converted cell/guest bedroom. It takes two cells knocked through to make a room and another for the en-suite!
They've kept the condemned cell as it was and also the ... gulp hanging pit! which will remain un-marked and unused.
A large quantity of bones have been excavated and Grandad at last found out what was behind his solid stone bedroom wall.. the excercise yard.

My bedroom was behind the window over the Audi car. I used to take our little dog up the Mound which has, believe it or not, a very deep well . The Matilda Tower, which is shortly to be opened to the public, was where Queen Matilda was impisoned. The view from the top will be one of the highlights of the tower
