think you need to go compact and get a pied a terre.. where we can drop in for tea or from where we and you both could meet out somewhere for a meal (not bother with providing an 'hotel' to put us all up for nuffink) and get out a bit more. There are lots of people to visit and with no worries about gardens and so on, it would be a blessed relief!
The world could be your lobster.. you've done your bit in providing a base for us and now's definately the time to move on. With a comfortable nest egg and your regular pension income, you'd be better off by a long chalk
