Cement Works Site
About the Area
Chinnor is a sleepy little village which over the years has embraced an impressive mix of architectural styles. It’s a wonderful example of that English
eccentricity of which we are so rightfully proud. Old Kiln Lakes is bringing its own sense of style to the former Cement Works site, offering a wide variety of
modern homes to suit all needs in a very pretty setting.
The village has a small number of shops including a Spar convenience store, a baker, butcher, pharmacy, garden centre and several takeaways. It also has a
library, social/sports hall, playing fields, children’s play area, GP and dental practices and a much loved and extremely well supported Community Centre.
There are several friendly pubs and restaurants within the immediate area. Families with children will be pleased to know there are two primary schools in the village with secondary schools in Thame and Watlington. The surrounding countryside just begs to be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback and there are two excellent golf courses – Princes Risborough 2.5 miles away and Whiteleaf Golf Club at 4.6 miles. The Ridgeway long distance footpath, crosses the site on an elevated causeway and recreational trips are offered on the private Chinnor
and Princes Risborough Railway that defines the north western boundary.
For more extensive shops and amenities there’s High Wycombe or Aylesbury, both approximately 8 miles away and it’s just 13 miles into Oxford. You’ll be just 3
miles from the M40 for travelling around the area. All in all a lovely place to put down roots in your new Taylor Wimpey home.
