lovely news from spain. sounds like you guys really are ripe for something new and creative. how temporarily frustrating but long term exciting.....
house coming along slowly and solidly and we are looking forward to helping hands! I think Julian's euphoria is passing and the hard grind setting in, but we do have more fun things once all the diggin's a-done. we thought we'd be in by today, and we haven't got hot water or a shower yet though he has been working like a dog so i he's a little low. bit of moral support needed here.
meanwhile audition news fairly good if a little amusing. I was very sweetly and sensitively told that, though they were very touched by my playing and it was a tres belle audition, i was not quite the personality they were looking for for the solo cello, but that they would like it if i could come and play in the section sometime. since i was not auditioning for the solo cello, and would be honoured to play anywhere in the band,i was pretty pleased.
hope something comes of it as last night i drove 3 hours to play a concert where there were only two people in the audience, and in the end we didn't play, won't get paid and i drove back in a huge traffic jam caused by the 'retour de la plage', missing the final of the french open. (i think that Gaudio guy is pretty cute actually, even if he is not our beloved Tim, but the piggy eyed guy scares me) wot a life.
lots of love, ruthx
