I have downloaded Skype

Now what? Do I type in a phone number or a name. My name is hughmerrowsmith. I have not yet been down to HMV for the Skype thingy. Does it work when my Mac is on Sleep?
We have had a glorious day here with clear skies and a warm day. I have cut all our lawns - the 'Hill' and side lawn in the front and the back garden, side lawn and new lawn on the right. I feel really good.
