Cleverly phrased....

Hiya all...and Peter...this is right up my street....I love puzzles :) The problem is that the question is always cleverly phrased to conceal what is really going on. The flaw is in the phrase "the waiter only stole 2 pounds." This should not be added, it should be subtracted, since the 2 pds the waiter got is part of the 27 pds the three guys spent altogether. If you subtract the 2 from the 27 you get the 25 that goes into the restaurant till.

Anyway, how is everyone? We're quite busy at the moment, Nic's pretty snowed under with work datelines and his design society annual dinner which he seems to be organising all by himself. I shall not say more as 'delegation' should be the key word here *grin*. I've been finishing some grant reports, datelines always seem to be in January. For the last week, me and my old school friends have been put on a roster (3 hrs/day each) to sit with another close school friend who's in hospital. She was diagnosed 2 years ago with stage 4 stomach Ca and now the Ca has spread to the brain. As a result, she has seizures etc and fluid also has to be drained from the brain. We've been helping her husband out by sitting with her 24 hours a day, keeping watch whilst he manages their kids (4 cute kids aged 7-11) and continues to work. The amazing thing is although she is in pain, she has the most amazing smile. spirit and absolute trust and faith in God. Well, anyway, so I guess we've been pretty busy.
The kids are well, Claire's started kindergarten 2....tis big school next year. I guess we'll be putting Daniel into Nursery 1 in a couple of months time. He seems quite eager to get out of the house every morning :) My sister Alexia is due in April so it's getting chaotic here, Mary's sister will be working for them.
