and a happy new year from provence...

We barely stayed awake till midnight but just about managed by playing a wild game of Charades - I think Jessica and Bethany came equal first. On the menu for New years eve was Foi Gras on toast with Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, then oysters (a first for Jan and Jessica) and prawns with Champagne followed by a leg of lamb with various French and Iberian wines and then rice pudding to soak up the wine. A noisy and jolly time had by all but we couldnt keep little Amy Jo upstairs alone (we tried) so eventually she re-joined us at the rice pudding stage. She has a new blue dressing gown which she doesn't want to take off and we had to put forward some pretty pursuasive arguments earlier in the day when she wanted to wear it to visit the Demoiselles Coiffees! All three girls have new boots so today we will head off up the mountain for some more snow fun... pictures to follow. A happy New year to you all, hope you got to see your fireworks Barbara, lots of love from us all in sunny but chilly Provence. Julian
