Jpegs and DVD players

If we were to get a modern DVD player that can do slideshows of jpeg photographs from a CD, will this machine recognise my photos from iPhoto without the need to export them all first as jpegs? I say this because when I dumped a load of iPhotos onto CD and gave them to a friend who has a PC, the photos couldn't be read on their PC and I have a suspicion that modern DVD players might show similar idiosyncracies due to their Windows based application software. Who knows? Who has a DVD player that reads their iPhotos directly from a freshly burned CD?

I can guarantee to do this will be a fiddle.. but all is possible if you really want to..
Why do you want to? The easy way..
You post pictures to flickr or a blog and it is all sorted.. you look through a mac or a windows machine and the headaches are gone. Yes iphotos are jpegs, but dvd's can be made of many things.. jpegs mpegs as there is no set standard as to how they are presented. It depends upon the manufacturer.
If you have a digital photo disk from kodak or Klick, have a look what other files are on it apart from the jpegs and you'll see what is involved. LOL
