our latest

Went into Banbury as Mum wanted to have her hair cut and almost the first shop we saw was Achille, a ladies stylist hair dresser, who, if we were prepared to wait for 40 minutes could cut and set Mum's hair that morning. So, what is 40 minutes if it will please Mum, so while she waited in a comfy archair, drinking a cup of coffee, I went for a little stroll to see if there was any good restaurants pres d'ici. There was not, so I went back to Achille and read a paper, until Mum was ready. She looked fabulous with her new hair styling by Boss Lady Dominique. When I asked her what part of France she came from, She said Paree. I asked her if she knew Provence and she said only Aix was worth visiting. I asked her if she knew Meze and she said she had never heard of it. There is only the one place in France and that was Paree, she didn't like the countryside. We went searching for a place to eat and decided to head for home when we passed a big new pub with Buffaloes and a stagecoach on the roof - It was Buffalo Bill's so we pulled in and had a very hot meal on hot plates - scampi et ships for Mum and cod and ships pour moi. We could have had buffalo steaks and Indian pie, but we chose not to.
Sunday after Church we went to Eynsham as we had been invited to lunch with Mum's cousin Josie, husband Graham, daughter Nickie and husband, plus another cousin Chrissie and husband Richard. Very nice company in their lovely house (with hot tub in the rear garden, plus other sun houses and a beautiful large conservatory) Josie is the family archivist and is very family orientated. ( a sort of young Auntie Peg who knows all the family names, including children). Graham's mother of 86, a lively little lady who used to have a knickers and bra shop in Headington and usd to be a traveller for Marks and Spencer, like your friend, Julian from Mazan. After tea, we left for home and that only took 25 minutes. Took the Rover for MOT this morning and it was found to have a small hole in the centre exhaust box, so it was failed as I wanted the car to visit the Health Centre in Brackley where I have to have a chest exam and a prostate injection. I will take it back tomorrow for a Pass. LOL Dad
