We have just had a card and letter from Jean Weller - remember her and her two children Gina, and Gary who married Mandy White from Towersey. Gary was killed outright in March, when a Tesco lorry fell over on to his car while he was on the Abingdon Road roundabout. The driver faces prosecution next month. Apparently there was another occasion two weeks later when a Tesco lorry turned over at the same point. You may have read about it Steve. We couldn't help thinking of you in your Tesco lorry, especially in high winds. That poor woman seems to have had a life of tragedy....For those who don't know who I am talking about Jean used to be my secretary when I was Clerk of the Chinnor Parish Council.
We have had other Christmas letters; from Lorna Maskell who travelled by rail from St Petersburg to Moscow and to Beijing to see her son Ian (Pete's pal), John and Myra Bell, second cousin Sarah and husband Richard, who have a house in the Vendee, Brian and Barbara Daniels who still sing and are patrons of the Swan in HW and visited Glyndebourne. We also had a six page close typed letter from Ann Payne, who has cancer and is determined to see the whole world, if possible. Anne worked at Chinnor Schools with Mum and lives in Glynswood. This is the lovely thing about Christmas, we get a once-a-year report from old friends. Sadly Mrs Barry passed away at 21 Glimbers.
