Jess gnoming in on the blog

Hello everybody
Just an update on life on the Costa Blanca!

How are you? Things are great here. Beth and I have just come home from our friends, twins Jasmin and Jessica, because we went straight to their’s after school. Their house is just accross the road from the school and they have a pony on their farm so every Tuesday or Thursday, depending on the amount of homework, we go over to ride, groom and help train the pony.
I’m not exactly looking forward to our exams but I’m not totally dreading them either. Tomorrow we aren’t doing any work (three cheers!) because it’s School House Sports Day. We come to school normally and then travel by bus to the Polidesportivo ( Sports Centre), which is within walking distance! Probably to save our energy. We’re doing 100m race, 400m race, three legged, potato and spoon, dressing up, long jump etc. It’ll be fun.
Beth and I have become Girl Guides since we came here and the weekend before last we went on a camping trip to the Orange House in Finestrat. We stayed there two nights in a cabin. We had to bring our own camping matresses because we were sleeping on wooden platforms. We didn’t have any so we nipped out to Carrefour (is that french?!) and bought a couple of self-inflatables which served very comfortably. We swam when the weather perked up and had to prepare a little show (eg. sing a song, dance) for our Entertainment Badge. Beth, my friends Gemma, Yasmin, Olivia and I did a couple of dances and a song.
How are things where you all are, in different parts of the world? We can’t wait to see you in October and to meet Auntie Ruth and little Daniel for the first time.
Hoping you are all ok and missing you.

Lots of love from Jessica xxxxxx........ these will take me ages because in Spain it’s a kiss for each cheek!
