Les Frenchies beware....

Have been learning to play Petanque the Spanish way today at the local family fun day (150 years of Alfaz del Pi celebrations). Watch out the French contingent, you'll be quaking in you Crillons and needing to be 'les brave' once Jan has it mastered.

Also pictured is our artist in residence....not as accomplished as her French counterpart, perhaps, but very much at home with a paint brush in her hand. Perhaps a cello too?

This afternoon we went walking in Altea Vella and enjoyed some lovely weather and most picturesque scenery. There is a general lack of roads for our Fiat Uno to explore (for we who are used to travelling up dirt tracks in a Landy) but once out of the car the old Spain is simply charming. Unusual to find a small and pretty village like this one, so close to Benidorm, that hasn't been over-run with holiday villas. We were pleasantly surprised.

Also, see if you recognise these sweeties....
